Grade E335 is a high-performance unalloyed structural steel used mainly in mechanical engineering and general engineering applications. The designation with the letter E classifies the steel as engineering grade, while the numerical value specifies a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa. The additional letter "+N" at the end of the steel designation indicates that the steel is supplied in the normalizing annealed state or after normalizing rolling, i.e. such hot rolling that leads to a material state and properties equivalent to those obtained after normalizing annealing.
Thanks to its suitable mechanical properties, it is very often used for the production of high-strength and leak-proof pipes, and is very good for applications requiring resistance to mechanical damage, such as the transportation of liquids and gases under pressure.
E355 steel is often used for pipes that are used in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as in mechanical structures where high strength and good ductility are required.
E355+N steel chemical composition
A very important factor determining the mechanical properties of a given steel is its chemical composition. According to melt analysis, the chemical composition of E355+N steel should be in accordance with the values given in the table below.
