Grade E335 is an unalloyed structural steel with high mechanical strength, excellent weldability and good machinability. The E designation classifies the steel as machineable, while the numerical value specifies a minimum yield strength of 335 MPa. Its appropriately designed chemical composition provides a combination of high mechanical strength with good weldability and ductility, which makes it suitable for use in the construction of load-bearing structures and welded parts.
Thanks to its high yield strength, E335 steel is suitable for structures requiring high resistance to mechanical and dynamic stresses. It has good machinability, which allows it to be easily cut, turned and drilled. It is amenable to cold forming and hot forming. E335 steel is easy to weld by conventional methods (MIG, MAG, arc) without preheating. Its low carbon content prevents welding cracks.
It is widely used in the construction, energy, engineering and construction industries, where reliability, durability and the ability to create load-bearing structures are required. Thanks to its versatility, E335 steel is used in a wide range of industrial applications.
E335 steel chemical composition
A very important factor determining the mechanical properties of a given steel is its chemical composition. According to melt analysis, the chemical composition of E335 steel should be in accordance with the values given in the table below.
