E235 steel is a medium strength structural steel characterized by good weldability, strength and ease of machining. The letter E in the designation, classifies the steel as machineable, while the numerical value determines the minimum yield strength of 235 MPa. Thanks to its reduced carbon content, it is easily weldable by all common methods such as arc, MIG and MAG welding, which allows it to be widely used in welded structures. In addition, it is characterized by good ductility, which is important for the production of structural elements. Thanks to its ductility, the steel is suitable for cold forming, making it possible to produce parts with precise shapes. E235 steel is characterized by good machinability, which allows easy turning, milling and drilling.
The grade designation with the letter (+C) indicates the delivery condition of the product, i.e. it is delivered in cold-forming hardening, i.e. the material has been cold-formed without heat treatment after the last cold deformation process (e.g. rolling, drawing). This process improves dimensional precision, surface quality and mechanical strength compared to hot-formed steels. Cold forming provides a smooth and even surface, ideal for precision applications. It is widely used in the construction and engineering industries, as well as in the manufacture of structural components requiring precision workmanship.
