Steel grade B500SP

B500SP steel is a reinforcing steel similar to B500B, but has higher fatigue resistance and ductility. "B" denotes steel for construction, the value "500" denotes yield strength given in MPa, "S" denotes weldable steel, while "P" denotes steel with increased ductility. This steel is particularly recommended for applications in structures subjected to dynamic loads, such as bridges, tunnels and other engineering structures, where exceptional strength and longevity of the material are required.

With the addition of manganese and silicon, B500SP steel achieves improved strength and elasticity, which increases its resistance to fatigue. B500SP steel is distinguished by even better mechanical properties than B500B, especially in terms of fatigue resistance, making it a good material for structures that must withstand repeated dynamic loads.

The grade of this reinforcing steel can be used in structures operating under both constant and repeatedly varying static and dynamic loads, in the temperature load range from -60 to +1000C. In addition, the quality-certified EPSTAL steel grade B500SP, which has the highest ductility, can be used universally, instead of other grades of reinforcing steel.

B500SP steel application

B500SP steel as a reinforcing steel with improved strength properties and increased ductility, especially recommended for use in the construction of structures subjected to dynamic loads.
B500SP steel is used in demanding engineering structures such as:

  • bridges
  • tunnels
  • high-rise structures
  • structures exposed to seismic loads.

High fatigue resistance and excellent weldability make B500SP steel a good choice for applications where structural reliability and durability are key.
