Double certification of stainless steel
Some of our products are certified with two grades of steel 1.4301/1.4307. This means that the carbon content is less than 0.030%.
In terms of mechanical properties, the two grades are virtually the same. They differ slightly in carbon content and thus in the conventional yield strength - 175MPa or 190MPa. In terms of other parameters: impact strength, ductility weldability, both grades are equivalent.
Multiple certification confirms compliance with various requirements under norms and standards.
Why stainless steel?
Stainless steel is characterized by high corrosion resistance, mechanical strength and aesthetic appearance, making it a good choice for many applications, both in environments exposed to harsh atmospheric conditions and in industrial installations, food or pharmaceutical industries. Among stainless steels, chromium-nickel corrosion-resistant steels with a single-phase structure - austenitic - deserve special attention.
Stainless steel grade X8CrNiS18-9 / 1.4305 / AISI 303
Automatic stainless steel with increased carbon and sulfur content, dedicated to machining.
Grade X8CrNiS18-9 is one of the most widely used stainless steels, especially due to its favorable price. It contains 18% chromium, 9% nickel and a maximum of 0.1% carbon and 0.25% sulfur. The right chemical composition ensures a fully austenitic structure, as well as high corrosion resistance, higher mechanical properties and reduced tendency to grain growth. It is a non-magnetic, weldable material, and is excellent for bending and machining. It is also characterized by high polishability. This steel is widely used both in industry, decoration and in the production of everyday objects. It can be cut with a saw or laser.
The X8CrNiS18-9 steel grade, which is a modification of the X5CrNi18-10 grade, is particularly suitable for machining. It is most commonly used in the food and dairy industries, the photographic, chemical and textile industries, as well as in the automotive and engineering industries.
Stainless steel grade X2CrNi18-9 / 1.4307 / AISI 304L
Stainless steel, an austenitic corrosion-resistant steel, is designated X2CrNi18-9 according to the European EN standard, and according to the American AISI/ASTM standard it is called 304L. Thanks to its single-phase structure, stainless steel exhibits resistance to electrochemical corrosion, as well as high mechanical properties. This grade of steel is easily machinable and also easily welded. It is resistant to corrosion in various solution and acid, water and steam environments. It is most often found in the form of sheets, tubes or bars.
It is used in the pharmaceutical, chemical, sanitary ware and surgical industries, among others.
Stainless steel grade X5CrNi18-10 / 1.4301 / AISI 304
X5CrNi18-10 steel, also known as 1.4301 or AISI 304, is the most popular austenitic stainless steel. It is characterized by high corrosion resistance and good weldability and formability, making it a versatile material used in various industries.
Thanks to its austenitic structure, X5CrNi18-10 steel retains ductility and strength over a wide temperature range, and is resistant to atmospheric corrosion and many aggressive chemicals.
X5CrNi18-10 steel is widely used in the food, chemical and medical industries, as well as in the manufacture of kitchen equipment, fittings, pressure vessels and building structures. Its good properties make it a material of choice for applications requiring corrosion resistance and aesthetic appearance.
