C45E unalloyed special steel, for quenching and tempering. It is a popular grade of steel, used in many industries. C45E steel is characterized by abrasion resistance and good wear resistance, making it ideal for the manufacture of parts requiring high strength, and suitable for the production of parts that are subjected to heavy use and friction. The "E" designation indicates lower concentrations of sulfur and phosphorus compared to the C45 steel grade, so it exhibits greater metallurgical purity but slightly lower machinability. It is used for components subjected to medium operating loads. It is a material readily available on the market and relatively inexpensive compared to other steel grades with similar properties. Due to its carbon content, it is not an easily weldable steel.
Steel grade C45E+N
C45E+N steel indicates that the products were supplied in normalized condition. The purpose of normalizing is to give the steel a uniform, fine-grained structure. This process is used to obtain a homogeneous microstructure and guarantee certain mechanical properties of the steel.
