Description

Corrugated sheeting commonly referred to as teardropsheeting has characteristic protrusions on its surface that are a few or several millimeters long. These protrusions, or riffles, by their shape resemble elongated teardrops, flattened lenses or elongated boats. The most common patterns: five-fold or two-fold. The anti-slip properties depend on the chosen pattern.

Corrugated sheet is formed in the process of stamping a sheet of metal of different thickness. As a result of this procedure, the individual riffles are arranged alternately in a herringbone pattern, most often the embossing occurs singly or doubly, and sometimes fivefold forming squares, arranged alternately in rows, so that the entire surface of the sheet looks like a checkerboard.

Properties of corrugated sheet metal
Thanks to the grooves embossed on the surface, corrugated sheet metal has anti-slip properties, ensuring the safety of users, especially when the pavement is wet. Another advantage is the ease of shaping these sheets, so you can form them into the desired shapes. Once galvanized, these sheets are also resistant to water and moisture, as well as sunlight.

Depending on the thickness used, corrugated sheets show different properties, including resistance to compression, bending, mechanical damage or abrasion.

Applications of corrugated sheet metal
Corrugated sheets are most often used in the engineering industry as well as in construction and architecture. Thanks to their embossed grooves, they are used for platforms leading to machinery or technical equipment on production halls. They are often used in areas that are exposed to oil or water contamination, as they protect users from slipping thanks to the embossed grooves. Sheets of this type are also found on the platforms of tankers or marine vessels, as well as in public transport vehicles. Stainless steel corrugated sheets are most commonly used in the food industry, due to their lack of toxicity when in contact with food.

In recent years, corrugated sheets have been widely used in the architectural industry. The popular trend for loft and minimalist style interiors has ensured their popularity. They are often used for stair treads, exterior balcony sills, but also for wall cladding elements. In modern kitchens they are used as a material between the countertop and wall cabinets, as well as a cover where the sink or basin is installed. In loft restaurants they are used for bar countertops. Thanks to their unusual structure, they can serve as interesting decorative elements.

The standard grades of thin corrugated sheets that we can offer for you are S235JR, S235JR+N (with normalization).
The dimensions of steel thin corrugated sheets are usually in the range of 2 mm to 12 mm (thickness), 1000 mm to 1500 mm (width) and 2000 to 6000 mm (length).
